KETO101 - The 15-Day Keto Crash Course
Day 9: Keto Obstacles and How to Overcome Them
Welcome back and congrats on making it to Day 9! We are so happy and rooting for your success. During this time, you may feel a bit of the Keto Flu symptoms, but we are here to give you tips to make this journey easier. Your body is almost full-gear ketosis, so don’t give up!
Fun Facts
- Keto lowers insulin; lower insulin is linked to decreased cancer risk
- Keto helps lower bad, heart-compromising cholesterol
- Lowering cholesterol lowers high blood pressure and can stop arteries from developing plaque
- Keto can help fight against cardiovascular disease and heart conditions
- MCT oils can help with the Keto Flu
- MCT Oil is saturated fat that travels straight to the liver after digestion, which means that these medium-chain fatty acids instantly converted into ketones and may help you reach ketosis, and stay there, quicker
Obstacles
- Keto Flu (Also as known as “Carb Flu”)
- You will feel flu-like symptoms, such as fatigue (this is your body’s natural reaction to switching from glucose as energy to fat for fuel)
- While on keto, you will lose lots of sodium and nutrients
- While having the keto flu, your cortisols (stress hormones) may increase
Tips
- To combat the keto flu, here are some natural remedies:
- Drink lots of water
- Add a pinch of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt to your water. This will replenish your sodium level
- Along with sodium, you should provide your body with essential minerals like potassium and magnesium. Potassium can be found in avocados and leafy greens (spinach, kale, …). Magnesium can be found in pumpkin seeds, almonds, and spinach. Consuming magnesium will help you with cramps, improve sleep, and increase sensitivity to insulin
- Eat more fat (you can use our MCT oil to get your daily fat intake)
- To alleviate stress, you can do relaxation exercises, such as meditation.
Challenge #5:
Meditate for 10 minutes each morning or night
